Plans and billing

Nipcy has a Free plan and three paid plans that differ mainly in how many photos you can store. Here is what each includes, how to change plans, and exactly what happens if you stop paying.

On this page

Every plan, including Free, lets you deliver galleries, take bookings, send contracts and invoices, and keep client records. The paid plans give you more room for photos and remove the small limits on Free. Nipcy never takes a cut of what your clients pay you, on any plan.

The plans

Free, $0, for good

  • 1,000 photos, unlimited galleries
  • 3 contracts and 3 questionnaires in total
  • No email sequences, no event invitations, and Content Studio captions come from the built-in library only
  • Nipcy branding on the pages your clients see
  • One rule: open your Nipcy dashboard at least once every 6 months (see below)

Starter, $9 a month or $90 a year

  • 3,000 photos
  • Unlimited contracts and questionnaires, email sequences, event invitations
  • 12 captions a month written for you in Content Studio
  • A small Nipcy credit stays on client pages

Growth, $19 a month or $190 a year

  • 12,000 photos
  • Everything in Starter
  • 40 captions a month
  • You can remove Nipcy branding from client pages

Professional, $29 a month or $290 a year

  • 40,000 photos
  • Everything in Growth
  • 120 captions a month
  • Priority support

Paying yearly costs the same as 10 months.

What counts as a photo

Every image you upload counts as one photo, whatever its size. Nipcy makes smaller copies for fast viewing, and those don't count. Each file can be up to 50 MB. Portfolio photos on your profile don't count either.

You can see how many you have used on the Galleries page and on your dashboard home. When you reach your limit, uploads stop until you delete some photos or move to a bigger plan. Nothing you already have is touched.

Upgrade or change plan

  1. Open Profile from the menu (or tap your initials at the top right).
  2. In Your plan, tap Upgrade (on Free) or Change plan (on a paid plan).
  3. Pick Monthly or Yearly, 2 months free.
  4. Tap Choose or Switch to on the plan you want.

New subscribers pay with Stripe. If you already pay for a plan, Stripe shows you the exact amount before anything changes, with credit for the time left on your current plan.

Moving to a smaller plan: your photos have to fit first. If you have 5,200 photos, you can't switch to Starter (3,000) until you have deleted at least 2,200. The plan card tells you how many. Nipcy will never pick photos to delete for you.

Update your card or see invoices

On Profile, tap Manage billing. You can also find it in Settings under Plan & billing. This opens Stripe's billing page, where you can change your card, update your billing details, download past invoices, or cancel.

Cancel

  1. Tap Manage billing on your Profile.
  2. Choose to cancel your subscription.

Your paid plan keeps working until the end of the month or year you already paid for. After that you are on the Free plan.

  • If you have 1,000 photos or fewer, that's all. You carry on as a Free account.
  • If you have more than 1,000, read the next section.

If you stop paying with more than 1,000 photos

Free holds 1,000 photos, so an account with more than that has to either subscribe again or trim down. Nipcy can't choose which of your photos to keep, so you decide, and you get three warnings by email first.

Counting from the day your paid plan ends (day 0):

  1. Day 0: first warning email. You are on the Free plan's limits.
  2. Day 14: your client galleries go offline. Clients see a message asking them to contact you. Second warning email.
  3. Day 41: third and final warning email.
  4. Day 44: your account locks. You can still sign in, but only Galleries (to delete photos), Profile (to subscribe) and Settings open.
  5. Day 50: all your photos and galleries are deleted for good.

At any point before day 50, subscribing again or deleting photos until you have 1,000 or fewer stops all of this. Everything comes back within an hour.

If a card payment fails (an expired card, for example), day 0 is the day of the first failed payment. Stripe tries the card again over the next few days. Two days after the first failure your account moves to the Free plan's limits until a payment goes through. Then your plan comes straight back. Update your card in Manage billing to fix it.

Always keep your own copies of your photos. Nipcy is where you deliver them, not your only backup.

The Free plan's 6-month rule

Free is free for as long as you use it. If you don't open your Nipcy dashboard for 6 months, your client galleries go offline. Nothing is deleted. The moment you sign in again, they are back.

The galleries page reminds you of this while you are on Free.

Good to know

  • No commission, ever. You keep 100% of what clients pay you. Card payments from clients go to your own Stripe account. See Getting paid.
  • Gallery expiry is up to you. While you are subscribed, a gallery only expires if you set a date on it. See Gallery settings.
  • Price changes: if we ever raise a price, you get at least 60 days' notice and the option to lock in yearly billing at your current price first.
  • Free contracts and questionnaires: the 3 are counted over the life of your account, and deleting one doesn't give it back. Saved templates don't count.
