Journal
Write articles that live on your own profile, like "What should we wear for family photos?", and publish them when they are ready.
On this page
The journal is a small blog on your own profile. Posts answer the questions your clients ask, such as what to wear, how long galleries take, or whether you travel. They help clients trust you, and they help people find you through search. Open it from Manage, then Journal.
Each post lives at nipcystudio.com/portfolio/your-name/journal/post-name.
Before you publish
You need a profile link before you can publish. If you do not have one, a banner says so with a Choose it now link to your Profile.
Write a post
- Tap New post. Nipcy creates a draft and opens the editor.
- Type a Title. Questions make good titles.
- Write your post in Post. If it is empty, tap Start from the shape that works to get a simple outline you can fill in.
- Add a Short answer: one or two sentences that answer the title. This is what shows in search results. If you leave it blank, the opening of the post is used.
- Add a cover with Add a cover photo if you like. Replace and Remove change it later.
- Tap Save.
Formatting your post
The post box uses a few simple marks:
- Start a line with
##and a space for a heading. - Start a line with
-and a space for a bullet point. - Put two stars around words for bold:
**like this**. - Write a link as
[the words](https://the-address.com). - Add an image as
.
The post's web address
The URL field sets the last part of the post's address. You can change it while the post is a draft. Once the post is live, it is fixed so links to it never break.
Publish
Tap Publish. Nipcy saves first, then puts the post live. You need a profile link and some text in the post.
To take a post down, tap Unpublish. It goes back to being a draft.
Your list of posts
The Journal page lists every post with a Live or Draft label, its date and its address. Each one has:
- Edit to open it
- Publish or Unpublish
- View to open a live post
- Delete, then Delete for good to confirm
When Nipcy asks to share your article
Sometimes Nipcy asks to repost a journal article on the Nipcy blog, with you credited as the author. If that happens, a card appears on the Journal page:
- Tap Yes, share it to agree.
- Tap No thanks to say no. You can add a note, then tap Confirm.
After you agree, the card says Shared on the Nipcy blog. You can tap Take it down or Withdraw permission at any time.
Good to know
- The journal is on every plan, including Free.
- On a computer, the editor has two columns. On a phone, the fields are in one column: title, address, short answer, cover, then the post.
- Posts you publish also show on your profile and as a Journal button on your link in bio page.
