Getting started with Nipcy
Create your free account, confirm your email, and set up your profile in about ten minutes. No card needed.
On this page
Nipcy is where you deliver galleries, take bookings, send contracts and invoices, and keep track of your clients. You can start on the Free plan and stay on it as long as you like. This guide walks you through your first ten minutes.
Create your account
- Go to nipcystudio.com/signup.
- Enter your Full name, your Email and a Password. The password needs at least 8 characters, an uppercase letter, and a number or symbol. Ticks appear under the box as you meet each rule.
- If someone gave you an invite code, type it in Invite code (optional). It looks like
NIPCY-XXXX-XXXX. If you opened a link from an invite email, it is already filled in. - Tap Create photographer account.
You are signed in straight away and taken to a short setup with four steps.
What an invite code gives you: a free month of the Starter plan (3,000 photos). When the month ends you move to the Free plan automatically. Nothing is charged and you never need to enter a card.
Step 1: Your profile
This is what clients see about you.
- Business name is optional. If you shoot under a studio name, put it here and clients will see it on galleries, contracts, invoices and emails. Leave it blank to use your own name.
- Tagline and Bio: a line and a short paragraph about you and your work.
- Phone number is required. Nipcy uses it to text you about new booking requests.
- Years of experience, Instagram and Website are optional.
Tap Continue to location →.
Step 2: Location and area
- Start typing your city in Your city and pick it from the list.
- Drag the slider to show How far will you travel? (in miles).
- Tap Continue to availability →. The button stays grey until you have picked a city.
Step 3: Availability
Switch on the days you usually work and set the hours for each one. Days you leave off show as Unavailable. You can change all of this later on the Availability page.
Tap Continue to plan →. This saves your profile.
Step 4: Choose a plan
You will see the three paid plans: Starter, Growth and Professional.
- To stay on Free, tap skip for now under the plans. Free is free for good: 1,000 photos, unlimited galleries and every main feature, with a few small limits. See Plans and billing.
- To subscribe, tap Choose on a plan. You pay with Stripe and come back to Nipcy when it is done.
If you signed up with an invite code, this step just tells you how long your free month lasts. Tap Go to dashboard.
Confirm your email
Nipcy sends you an email with a confirmation link. Until you open it, a banner shows at the top of every page, and you cannot:
- share galleries
- send contracts, invoices or questionnaires
- put your profile live for clients
Open the email and tap the link. If it did not arrive, check your spam folder, then tap Resend on the banner.
What to do next
Your dashboard home has a checklist called Get your profile ready. Working through it is the quickest way to look professional to clients. The most useful first steps:
- Add a profile photo, cover photo and logo on your Profile.
- Upload 5 or more portfolio photos.
- Create your first gallery and share it. See Organising your galleries and Uploading photos.
- Set up a session clients can book. See Setting up a mini session.
- If you want clients to pay you by card, connect Stripe. See Getting paid.
Good to know
- Nipcy takes no commission. You keep 100% of what your clients pay you.
- Phone or computer: everything in Nipcy works on both. On a phone, the menu is behind the three-line button at the top left.
- Signing in later: go to nipcystudio.com/login. If you forget your password, use the reset link on that page.
