Sharing a gallery

Open the gallery, tap Share, then Generate Share Link. Send the link by text or email, or show the QR code. To share a whole group of galleries with one link, use Share Collection.

On this page

Clients open your galleries with a share link. You can make as many links as you like for one gallery, each with its own password, expiry date and label. Hearts and comments belong to the gallery, so they stay put even if you replace a link.

You need to have confirmed your email address before you can share. See Getting started.

  1. Open the gallery and tap Share in the toolbar.
  2. If you want, type a password in Password (optional, min 6 characters).
  3. If you want, pick a date for the link to stop working.
  4. Tap Generate Share Link.

The new link appears in the list below.

Quicker way: on the Galleries page, open a gallery row's options and tap Share Gallery, then Generate Share Link. You get the link and a QR code straight away, with Copy and Share via.... A link made this way has no password and no expiry.

Send it

Each link in the list has buttons:

  • the copy icon next to the address copies it
  • SMS opens a text message with the link in it
  • Email opens an email with the link in it
  • Preview opens the gallery the way your client sees it

Tap Add label… to name a link, like "Bride's family", so you can tell your links apart.

See who opened it

Under each link Nipcy shows when it was made, when it was last opened, how many times it was viewed, and its expiry date if it has one. If it has a password, tap Show or Copy next to it.

Tap Revoke on the link, then Yes, revoke. Anyone who tries it from then on sees that the gallery was not found. Your other links keep working, and nothing in the gallery changes.

Show a QR code

Tap QR in the toolbar. You can:

  • tap Download QR to save it as an image, for a print or a card
  • show it full screen for someone to scan
  • tap Copy Link

If the gallery has no link yet, tap Create Share Link first.

If the gallery was created from a booking or a signed contract, making a share link can email the client that their gallery is ready. This only happens if you have switched on Gallery Delivered in Emails and automations. Galleries you made yourself send nothing, so share the link with your client directly.

Use this when one shoot is split into several galleries, like a wedding.

  1. On the Galleries page, open the group's row options.
  2. Tap Share Collection.
  3. If you want, set This link expires.
  4. Tap Generate Collection Link.

You get the link and a QR code, with Copy and Share via.... Your client sees a page with every gallery in the group and opens each one from there. If a gallery inside has its own password, the client still needs it.

Open Share Collection again. Under Links you've made you see every working link for that group, with how many times it was opened and its expiry date. Tap Copy to send it again, or Revoke, then Revoke again to confirm. A revoked link stops working straight away. Nothing in the galleries changes.

Group settings

Open a group's row options and tap the gear, Group Settings:

  • Collection expires (optional): after this date no link to anything in the group opens, including links you already sent. Tap Clear to remove it.
  • Cover: choose Pick from gallery to use one of your photos, or Upload new to add an image (JPEG, PNG or HEIC, up to 50 MB).
  • Set focal point: tap the most important part of the cover so it crops well.

Tap Save.

Good to know

  • A gallery's own password (in Gallery settings) covers every link. A link's own password only covers that link.
  • Expired and revoked links show the client a message to contact you. Nothing is deleted.
  • To see what your client sees, read What your clients see.
